Finally!! Sorry about that. Yesterday was one of those days that I just needed a couple more hours to get things done!!! Today we head for camp and hopefully this darn rain will let up tomorrow because I'm going fishing. Camp is in Erroll, NH and Lake Umbagog is beautiful this time of year and the small mouth are even better...Also no cell phone!!!!! dancing

Oh hope you enjoy camp, I think it's supposed to finally clear off and be what we Northeners would call "hot" for a change. Wondering how this cold I've got is going to feel in the nice warm weather...ugh.

Hi Everyone.
I've had an update from Corning and I want to share it with you. We will have to pay for the classes we want to take in January. As we knew, there is a minimum of 6 people per class, which means the deposit will be $6x$192 = $1152 per class we book. Corning have to reserve the studios and ensure the instructors are available so we do not think this is an unreasonable request. That means that we will need your cheques December 15, 2009 (and they can be postdated to January 5, 2010). We can add to the numbers of participants in the classes until March, 2010, but there are maximums on the class sizes too so we have to keep that in mind.
From looking at the poll it looks as though we have sufficient numbers for the glass painting and the fusing/sandblasting classes and we're short a couple of participants in the other classes they offer. That doesn't mean they wouldn't be prepared to put the classes on it's just that if there weren't 6 participants then the cost of the class per participant would be higher. You may or may not be prepared to pay that.
Anyway, I do have to get back to Corning and sort out times (ie am vs pm) and dates for classes. Because of that and now that you know the time frame for when the funds are required for the classes I would appreciate you letting me know via a reply on this thread to confirm that you will still be attending and specifically what classes you wish to take so I can ensure we set up the classes for you so you're not looking at conflicting times/dates.
If you have questions please feel free to ask - if you have a question someone else is likely asking the same thing. We want to make this a lot of fun for everyone. Corning is being very accommodating and we're really happy with the help they've given us to date on this. There are tons of things to do in the Corning area (see their site, there are all kinds of links within the site that will tell you about the other things you could do when you're not taking classes).
So.......looking forward to your early feedback so we can get the reservations made for the classes.
Thanks, Your AOG Great Escape Planning Team

Painting and fusing is what I am insterested in.
Question Anne, is the sand blasting combined with the fusing, or are they 2 seperate classes?

As it stands right now, I can not due mid-week at Corning. Kids are still in school and I can't commute there. I would love to go. I might be able to come up for a day or so.

It all depends on the teacher!
Would these be basic classes?

Hi Chantal. We've told them we'd want intermediate classes. I'll find out the name of the instructor for you!

What is their distinction between beginning and intermediate? If there are enough members interested, maybe they can run both.
