Thanks everyone.

Amber there is a sink to the right of where I was standing to take the picture. Like a laundry utility sink. I want to get one more cabinet with a bit of countertop to it to set right next to the sink for drying purposes or whatever.

I spent the last 2 days in the rest of the basement putting together storage racks and moving stuff onto them. Now that that is done I think tomorrow I can move back into my room and finish the organizing etc. I wanna get to glassing darn-it.

Meaco that's Bandit, our rescue we got in March. We have another one coming this weekend, Fawn, 3yrs old, male and his name will be Bantu. I'll add the picture of Baby chillin' in the lightbox box. How is your doing?

Probably try the primer but then again I may wait until I get a splinter first :) too anxious to get in there and work PLUS a few people already want me to make things for them and I'd love the $$ :)

Awww...what a cutie!!!  I absolutely love watching pugs sleep...too cute!  Lola is doing great, she just turned 3...spoiled rotten as ever. ;)  I just finished a mosaic portrait of myself and her when she was just a puppy...I'll post it sometime today.

I am actually in the process of converting my attic into a studio and I had work tables made.  The builder told me that he recommended putting a couple of coats of wood stain and then a coat of polyurethane on top of that.  I think I will do that and see how that comes out...especially on the top.  When it dulls or wears a bit you can just steel wool it and reapply the poly.

Awwww-what a cute puppy.  And clearly all worn out from helping you with everything.  Because you couldn't have possibly gotten so much done without the able assistance and supervision of the pup.  :>

I have to keep the door to my glass room closed.  The boy-cats are convinced that the entire room is filled with kitty treats, toys and catnip and that I won't let them in there because I am a big meanie.   rolleyes

Mark went to school with this artist (http://glassnebula.com/).  She says that she has one cat who comes into her studio and just watches her work.  :>

My boys would be bad and would insist on helping with everything, thus they are banned from the glass room....

I like your moveable work station, the casters are going to make that a real gem!  Mine is unmovable unfortunately, but it's also so large that I'm only a couple of steps from the countertops that ring the room.  (With the way I eat M&M's I should have made it so that I would have to do a lot of walking LOL)

I covered the top of my work surface with naughahyde (sp?), it's stapled on around the sides, no chance of splinters, easily replaceable, but it's been there for 6 or 7 years, maybe slightly longer, easy to clean, only melts a little w/hot solder.  But I'm sure that you can also use yours as is.  Lots of good suggestions for you to try!

Looking good Mal, may you spend many hours of enjoyment in your beautiful glass room!!

I glued 1/4" rolled cork to my surface, and I love it!

Well 2 nights ago I finally hung a bunch of stainedglass in my windows down there in an effort to finish getting the room sorted. I also hung a bunch of pictures in the hallway. Somehow after all that was done my back was killing me. I ended up taking flexeril and sleeping most of yesterday away. Feels alot better now but I also went for a massage today to help it along.

So my table is also cleared off and set up for work. Now I am looking for or going to make a couple sunflower patterns to put in the doors of a couple entertainment centers. Been wanting to do this for a while and I finally tossed the glass that came with the cabinets :) so now I have to get to it lol.

Also need to put together the glass rack though, wood is all cut for it just sitting there waiting on me :)

Well the glass rack is done (pic on facebook but I'll try to post it here also.) I can see changing it sometime down the road but I intentionally unpacked alot of the glass and set it on the table to force myself to finish the rack because I needed the table space back. It worked and now the table is cleared off again and in use for projects.

I didn't take pictures of the build in progress for the rack, just like I don't draw out plans...it's all an idea in my head haha and it drives my husband nuts.

As for my back....getting to the root of the problem finally I think. Still doing accupuncture and helping BUT I was having alot of foot pain too....long story short, getting custom orthodics because of what my feet are doing. Temporary ones are working great and back pain is also getting less so yup....I think it's all related.

Oh, and I now have a screen door on the outside of my room door (to the hallway). It's only there so the boys can sit in the hall and see me but they can't come in because of the glass.

I love the glass rack, ..... but aren't you worried about the rack when it ages and is full of glass but has no support under the second shelf. I would be a fraid of a loud bang in the middle of the night. What if you flipped it up side down? Let all that heavy glass weight be on the bottom.

Plus it appears to me that the second shelf also has a lot of the weight of the first shelf pressing down on it.

Also looks, at least to these tired ol' eyes, that the shelf is already sagging under the weight.

They are right Malinda, I didnt notice, but it happened to me and we had to do some heavy duty reinforcing. We put full dividers to hold the weight as well. The last thing you need is alot of scrap glass...lol.

Just reverse the setup making the top the new bottom.  The largest sheets should be on the bottom row.

It looks like to me that the bottom is routed for more dividers and the dividers are laying there waiting to be installed.
