I thought I'd post some pictures for yall' I'm so excited to be setting up the new workspace! 3 boxes down and it already looks alot better than when they just dropped everything in the room.
The workbench is 5'x4'; a 5'cabinet base on one side and 2 15" bases on the other side. This worked out great because it gave me a cubby to put my legs into if I ever want to sit down and work. I've got a 5/8" piece of plywood screwed down for the top so I can easily remove it once it's beat to hell or if something happens and it needs to be replaced.
Oh and I should add this entire badboy is on 12 casters and it rolls pretty darn well.
Now I'm off to strengthen a bookcase unit so I can put....books on it for the room....then probably put some shelves up and sweep the floor. Oh well I do have to finish putting away that mess on the table too haha.
Any comments/suggestions are welcome :)

I'm excited, I am able to put other furniture to use in this room too like the table holding the lightbox in the back corner. Finally it's being used for more than a junk spot like in the center of my last room lol.

I hope you are putting some polyurethane or other finish on that plywood otherwise you are going to get splinters :-) When I had a plywood top, I just poured a can of poly on it and spread it out even, waited a few days for it to cure and it was done; poly also helped with spill clean up. |

If the wood top worries you, I suggest white primer. You can mark and draw on it, sand it and even repaint it as needed. I have never had a splinter problem with my (many) plywood work surfaces, but it can happen! - Tod

White primer is another good sealer, Tod. We just always have poly around here (DH is a woodworker)...
