Another notice from Hollander.

Clarity are not shipping any finishing compound at the moment. They're just smack outta the stuff. So there may be a shortage at the retail level. Some people might like to hoard a bit, to get them over the shortage.

Along these lines, I ordered several sheets of Youghiogheny from Ed Hoy's and they were out of all I ordered.  I called and asked when they would have the glass and if I could get it faster having it drop shipped to me.  She said that Youghiogheny makes glass to order - they don't have a lot of inventory.  She called Youghiogheny and they said that they don't have the glass in stock to ship directly to me, but they have most of the glass for Ed Hoy's packed, so it will go out next week.  She asked him specifically about the glasses that I had ordered, and he couldn't tell her for sure whether it was in the shipment or not.  The whole thing seems strange to me.  Why would Ed Hoy's be out of EVERYTHING I wanted?  And why would Youghiogheny be unsure of what is going out to Ed Hoy's next week?  I think it is a big conspiracy to keep me from having what I want!

They are trying to tell you to increase your prices so you can go on vacation and quit bothering them.

I ordered a circle cutter and several other things from my teacher, who gets his things from Ed Hoys. They have been out of the circle cutters for about 6 weeks.
Hope I get it soon.

do I smell large price increases coming?  It sure doesn't sound right.  It wasn't long ago the yglass redid their web site and when I went there the other day solder had jumped $3.00 a roll.  Glad I have a pretty good stash for now anyway.

It is the Silberschnitt Pro Circle Cutter. I already paid the teacher for it, but hopefully the BE glass will come along with the other supplies soon.

Ohhh.  The Silberschnittcomes from Germany and is a more expensive (and very nice) piece of equipment, so I can see how it could take a little while.  I was just curious.
