I'll start this off.

I have had a bowling ball laying round here for over 2 years now, just waiting for glass.  Summer catchs me sitting by my ponds day dreaming.

So my project will be to turn the bowling ball into a gazing ball. It will make a wonderful focal for my pond area.

What if you don't usually work with a design or pattern?

most people have an idea of what they are gonna do, they don't just glue the glass down without a theme in mind

If they don't physically draw out the pattern and make it based on their vision, would a description of what they are going to do be ok?

What a great idea. I'll have to think about this. We retire in 2 days and I was planning on spending the summer making  glass items to have enough to do a couple fall craft shows in the area, but if I get enough done maybe I can jump in on this later. Is there a deadline for signing up?

I have a lot going on but I think this sounds like a fun challenge. I have been wanting to try a glass on glass project for a while...would this fit even though I may not grout it?

Very good Di.  The best part is we have all summer long and can hop on any time as long as we are done by labor day.

Audrey, you can do it anytime throughout the summer.  That is the best part of this.  We can do it as we go.  Come labor day we should have a ton of great pictures and a lot of fun

Don't forget to sand it first. If you want to make a pattern, cover it with wet paper, cut it off the way they make lampshade patterns. ...Volah!

Well I just so happen to have a bowling ball hanging around too!  I guess I'll have to try to get in on this effort.  I hope I'll have it finished by labor day, if not I'll still post pics of what I do get done.

Great idea!
