So I had a facebook message from an old family friend of the hubby's folks who runs a horse business in NS and she was looking for some custom horse themed stocking stuffer ideas, some for herself and her work and also she wanted to show the same items to 'several hundred ladies also looking for something different'. The big key things in her email were stocking stuffers, ability to slightly vary the designs easily so that they aren't all exactly alike and also things easily produced.

Well I thought I found the best thing on Delphi, those horse decals that come in black and gold and each sheet has horses in different ranges of motion and with them I was able to offer anything from votives and coasters to pendants and tree ornaments in a good range of prices and with switching up glass colors and horses I thought I fit the bill. Well the lady wants more specific horses, like dressage, barrel racing, penning etc and I'm having a next to impossible time trying to find anything like that. I stumbled across some western themes on etsy and a couple ladies who can make custom glass fusing decals for me but it's getting the images I need that's next to impossible *ugh*.

I've been looking for the black silhouettes because any photos that get's shrunk down to about an inch and then printed in one tone are just going to look like mush and the only place I found that sells the photos I need is going to be a pretty penny but the images are perfect   http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-illustration-2823902-equestrian-silouettes.php . They have *tons*  like the above in all sorts of equestrian activities and at first the prices looked great! But then I read through the fine print contract and in order to reproduce and sell, and I should have guessed this part, I have to buy the extended licence *grr*. And they were so perfect!

Now I'm back to square one, I was working on this for 6 hours yesterday, no kidding, emailing back and forth with this lady (who really is a riot *lol) but I don't know what I can do now. Any ideas would be appreciated!!! With the original quotes they were based on the below sample decals that I sent along with the prices. When she wanted more specific and I found the linked images she was willing to cover the rate to purchase the images at around $85 on top of the first quote, but now it's going to be silly and impractical to go above that and I need new ideas that are cost effective and I've pored over thousands of images and tons of websites and I'm empty *lol.

Check out this site. The decals are in color and there are a whole range of horse designs. They are really nice and fuse beautifully.

I live in horse/hunt country and needed to make up some things for a function.  A friend recommended this site.  Really nice decal designs...I hope they work for you.

The more I poured through them the more impressed I got! Thank you so much!

One of the comments I kept coming up against as feedback from her was there was nothing to 'differentiate between the horses' when I was sending image samples. And I could see she was right, myself I'm not in the horse business and half the language runs over my head but I could appreciate that this is a lifestyle for them and they don't just want pretty pictures *lol. I created a private album with all the sample images on facebook for her to go through and give feedback on, I do hope/think she'll like them :).  I also made sure to give thanks to my glass friends for showing them to me!

I looked at fusing paper because it seemed like a neat idea but the ones I found need a laser printer with an ?oxide? based ink..... and then personally I was still stuck on image rights for this project, but is still seems like such a great idea! I would love do do some cherry blossom pendants :).

The printer has to have a high iron content to make a decal.  And it comes out sepia colored.  And that's ALL I know - I haven't done it, I have just read about it.
