For this I took a large beveled mirror and blasted off the mirror except for the design. Looks pretty cool in person.

Beautiful design!!!! It reminds me of Ravens that can be seen on a Haida totum pole. Did you draw that? Love the detail.

very cool! How do you make the design, do you draw using glass eye then draw it onto a stencil that sticks to the mirror?

I was just wondering about that very thing. If they were drawn up in Glass Eye (because of the 3 repeats) and then had the design transfered over to the printer. Or if the designs were ready made from another source? If so, where did you find them?

I remember your earlier celtic drawings and if I remember right, you had a program that helps to create those?

This design is not an original design of mine. I bought one of the Dover Cd's that was Celtic related.  The stained glass designs I did previously I did with Glasseye. Once I choose the design I use a Cricut to cut the design out of resist, them apply it to the glass and blast away.

The mirror looks really cool!  Sometimes I wish I had gone the sandblast route, but the hand etching is pretty challenging, and interesting in its own right.  You are doing some really neat stuff with your new toy!  annabelle

When I do something that includes mirror once I have it ground I spray it with Sprayway Industrial Mirror Edge Sealant Kev.  It helps seal the edges so the flux doesn't eat away at the silver on the back of the mirror.  The can says "a specially formulated clear coating to reduce silver deterioration".Just wondered if that would work for your sandblasted items. I don't know if it will but I'll bet someone here does!

That's what I plan on using as well. I just wonder if it will change the look of the frosted areas once it is also sprayed too.

Do you have any pieces that are scrap that you could test it on so you don't mess up this nice one?
