This is my experiment for yesterday.

I took 2 more pieces of float glass 6x15" and painted them with multiple shades of enamels for firing. Since they mature at 1050 - 1175, and my float slumps at 1130, I thought...hmmm...I could enamel and slump at the same time...we will see...LOL

I did check to see which side the tin side was on, and enameled on the non tin side. I fired them with the enamel side up, which also means the tin side was fired down.

Now I just have to decide what to do with them for sandblasting and such. To me so far the upper panel it looks like a sky, with the lower panel looking like the water beneath that sky.

I really like the color combination... I see a field of irises in them...

Hmm...I hadn't thought of that...but the colors would be quite appropriate.

I give a thumbs up to LA's idea..that coloring in the glass reminds me of Iris's too.

I am jealous! My enamls have fired very light two days in a row. Yours came out nice and dark. What medium did you mix them with?

Water friendly medium and water. They look darker against a white background, therefore I may lightly blast the backside.

Very cool looking, Kev. Again, great that you're sharing so many of your experiments - and that you're so thoughtful about your approach (mostly ;-}).

I have not completely worked out the mounting of it yet. My thought it to glue them with Triolyse to a larger sheet of frosted glass, then get those glass wall mounting chummy jiggers to attach it to the wall...might even run some rope lights behind the frosted back panel.....not sure yet.
