I made this sample painting tile in Dick Millard's class last summer and then had all my fellow students sign it for fun.

Then I took a blue piece of glass and ground out the moon and water rings in it with a dremmel and fiiled them with white frit, and full fused.

Next I played with plating them together. And failed! The blue in back, painted peice in the middle, and clear over the top.

I was almost finished putting lead bumps on the edge when I saw the flux had bled in between the paint layer and the clear glass cover. Growl. I tore it apart and will do something else with it another day.

Awwwh, don't ya hate when that happens.  It looked like a beautiful project and a nice memory of a wonderful class.  Try, try again Judy, maybe it will be even better the second time around..hard to believe, but possible!

No more lead in the house for now, and I trashed the old stuff getting it off the glass. I proped it in the window again, just glass pieces. I totally stink at soldering right now.
