Never mind the excellent artwork that goes without saying. They are excellent. You also seem to have your firing schedules for the different projects working out very well.
Nice rounded edges, no dogboning just spot on temps and timing

If you are using the Dremel dry, wear a mask.  It would be better to do it in water if you can.

I wore a mask. Under water you would not be able to see what your doing on the clear dichroic, and it would be hard to see what your doing on the black as well as the water vibrates from the dremel.

Kev, how about this

That still would not work Joan. Imagine an outline around the swimmer and then everything inside of that filled in...that's what it would be, and therefore would be hard to tell what the subject is.

Thanks Ian. I have the pendant firing schedule and fire polishing schedules down pat. I keep them programmed in the controller.

Kev, I've never seen this done before. Can you explain the process? I mean did you glue a stencil? Is it something else?  What size dremal bit do you use?       I 'm really wondering about the stencil process. Can I use anything? one of my drawings ? Thanks so much for explaining it to inexperienced peeps like moi

I was wondering some of the same things Shereen. Plus, I was wondering if you turned the clear dicro over so there was a clear cap on top or was the pendant fired with the dicro side up?

Nice pieces Kev!

I used the small bit that has the little ball on the end of it that they list for etching glass..I can't remember the number of it. You could use a stencil, but I would use it merely to mark the design with a fine tipped marker and then use the marker lines as a guide, or draw a design freehand. If you don't like it, a bit of alcohol will take the marker off and you can start again.  On these particular pendants, if the dichroic had a black backing, then I capped it in clear. If the dichroic was clear, then I flipped it face down against the black..no clear cap needed.

I have cold worked these pendants and fire polished them to the finished shape. I will be attaching bails shortly and will post a new pic.

So you are cooking an etching instead of printing one?  Look out folks, Kev's inviting us to check out his etchings.

I tried this yesterday and really had fun doing it, and quite pleased with the results. Amazing a what a dremmel can do. I used it to remove the dichroic coating by etching it into a design and then fired it against black glass.

In the examples you made here were done with black glass for the background, so in those examples you turned the clear dicro over to provide a clear cap. Thanks Kev:)

Yes Nancy that's correct.
Some were clear dichro in which I then added a black back, and turned the dichro face dow against the black, thus using the backside of the dichro to provide a clear cap at the same time..
