This is cooking in the kiln now. I will do a contour fuse with it to retain some of the woven texture. It was not the colors i had planned initially, but I found out I did not have the colors I needed so I made do with what I had on hand...I still like it though..nice and vibrant.

I have a tray 11.5" square with curved up corners...I will slump it into that.

Yep...it's done.

I'm going to slump it today in the mold shown. There ere a few areas that looked like the base started to bubble a bit. I'm hoping once it is slumped, that the bubbles will relax . If not it's still ok.

If this was a single layer with the strips laid out then the bubbles were a volume issue. I'm not sure anything will happen to them at slump temps.  Very cool, though!

Possibly slowing your ramp down between 1100 and 1250 may have helped.  The way it's laid up you have little squares of 1 layer and it's trapping the air.

I was only ramping at 75/hr through that range. The clear was used as a base. There should not be any trapped air under it, but it loks more like the glass was sucked up...I'm sure more of a volume thing like you said.

Well, then that solution is out! You may not think there's any air but you have some places that are 2 layers and some that are 1 layer...there is air!  It was pushing up because it had no outlet to escape.  Are they in every square?  If they are then embrace your bubbles and call them a design feature!  They are those that do this type of set up just to get bubbles!  The only other way to avoid them is to make sure you have 2 full layers of glass.

No there is only a few like that. If I used 2 full layers, then I would lose the wavy texture on the top. I still like it thought, still functional.

I do love the textured feel of the top of it. I'll have to check into the molds for the strips for weaving. It's slumping now.

Yaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Ain't it fun!!!  Basketball Love it Kev.

I plan on using the same square slumper as well. I think it's one of my favourite molds right now.
I ordered a medium interweave mold yesterday and it might be here today or tomorrow!

Thanks for the inspiration m'lad:) Thumbs Up

Looks nice, Kev.  Look into a weave mold...you'll really like the texture you get using them.
