I love it! It turned out just beautifully! And thanks for the tip about the grouting..he,he, I need to fix some tiles in the upstairs bathroom and it's been a looooong time since I've mixed grout.
You WILL have to do more of these! Thanks for posting the pics of it.

We were doomed to get soaked anyway, but it was my fault we did not get closer to the edge of the park before we did. Rebecca kept saying, "We have to run!". I kept saying," It's dumping , Stay under these tress they will protect us some." Well SHE WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The little patch of dry pavement under these huge dense trees kept getting smaller and the thunder cloud did not pass over fast but rather sat over us. Finally, the leaves could hold no more water and let go buckets full. So we finally ran. The water from the lake was being picked up from the wind and blown sideways with the dumping rain. We could not see well and Rebecca was blind with water under her glasses. We finally found a tiny building that broke the water flying at us from the side and glued ourselves to a wall with no eave over head, along with some joggers. We finally decided we could not get wetter and just started walking out of the park and back to the city. As we reached the city streets the sun came back, but the street was a foot deep in water we could not cross easily. A man was on his phone asking for a ride because he could not cross. We waded over and slogged 3 blocks to the hotel. We laid everything out around the room to dry over night . Each piece of paper from our wallets was soaked. In the morning most things were dry enough to use. I picked up two pens to put in my purse and water ran out of them. Thankfully our cameras and phones servived. It's funny now... and I am proud to say REBECCA WAS RIGHT!!!!!! WE SHOULD HAVE RUN went it first started. I am not sure we would have gotten out of the park dry, but we may not have been pouring water out of our purses.

Even our money and travelers' checks, inside our purses were wet. We had to peel them apart and spread them out to dry. We had every surface in the hotel room and most of the floor covered with things drying. We had a faulty hair dryer in the room and I tried to dry my ONLY pair of shoes with it. (I sent my other shoes home so I wouldn't have so much to carry on our travels.) Judy was worried to death about her camera and phone, but at some point I just quit worrying and started laughing. When we got to the hotel, the lady at the desk must have thought I was delirious or hysterical!

I bet you both will always smile when you think of Central Park. Like being kids again and building memories.

If you had been with us, Barbara, maybe we could have grabbed Judy's hands and dragged her to the hotel! Then we wouldn't have those amusing memories.
But I do smile when I think of it. I even smile when I see my avatar - it's the sky right before the rain started.

Oh my, what a memory! To be treasured for sure! The house is a treasure too, but I do have a question, having helped hang a series of windchimes around a house to keep the birds away, I wonder if any birdies will be interested in nesting to musical accompaniment?

Don't work on these damn Arizona birds - had a ring neck dove starting a nest in the platform that holds the chime tubes - they do however seem to keep the cats away, maybe that's why the bird started building it's nest there.

Sounds like this could have been an episode with Lucy and Ethel
That is exactly what we kept calling ourselves, But many others called us Thelma and Louise. We were fun and wild but not to the standard of Thelma and Louise. We never drove our car off a cliff, Alan my folks have trouble with the doves nesting everywhere tooo. Weird places
