Thanks Nancy,
Had to play in Photoshop to get the sky like that, it was a pretty overcast day and those snowbirds were sooo hard to see against the dark sky.  I took lots of people out of the pic while I was at it!

Sounds like we have the country pretty much covered!  That's great, the more the merrier!

Hi Everybody!

My name is Tina, and I have been addicted to glass for more than 12 years now.  I love to work with my hands, and enjoy the creativity involved in the selection of glass and construction of a panel.  Most of all, I always get a thrill when I hold a cool piece of glass to the sunlight and experience "the magic of glass".  You all know what I mean.    So many possibilities....so little time..................

My husband and I live near Cincinnati, and, as much as we love our children, we are enjoying being empty nesters.  Our mini poodle, Smokey, is our baby, and our lovebird, Bella, enjoys being the center of attention.   We also breed American Singer canaries, which is more my husband's hobby than mine, although I do help feed and clean the cages (not as bad as you might think).  I love hearing the canaries sing, especially during these dreary winter months.  We're getting them ready for breeding season, and hope to have some eggs in the next few weeks.  This is an exciting and very rewarding time in the bird room.

I'm very happy to have learned about this site, and look forward to making new glass friend here!

Thanks again for your warm welcomes!

Hi Tina, sounds like you have a busy household for sure.  Please post some pictures of the little ones this spring.  Must be something to see.  How many do you have?

You must have a bunch of pictures of your glass items after doing it for 12 years already, wow.  We look forward to hearing your experiences along the way.  Again, welcome to our glassing family.

Wow Tina...sounds busy for sure. I do know that "Magic" you speak of with glass. There are so many beautiful pieces out there, some you don't even want to cut, as they look like works of art in themselves. What is your forte with glasswork? Lead, foil.....

We look forward to seeing your babies. There are many avid bird fans here as well. Again I welcome you, and look forward to sharing thoughts and ideas with you.

Hi Tina.  Welcome!  I'll be looking forward to seeing pics of the babies in the spring too. I had canaries until 3 years ago and we were considering breeding as well but our Strata passed a rule as to number of pets (even birds) that we were allowed to have.  Unbelievable eh?  Anyway would really like to see a pictoral on breeding season if you wouldn't mind.  See we're not only addicted to glass here, lol.  But.......back to glass...glad you're here, and we look forward to getting to know you too.

Hello all, my name is twan. I am married, mother of two teenage boys. Live in Northern Illinois by the IL and WI border. I have been doing stained glass for 14 years now. Something I always loved looking at and said some day. That day was when I met my mother-in-law. She had been taking classes and she was happy that I was so interested in what she was doing that she bought me my first session and have been hooked since. Haven't expanded too much into the fusing, slumping, slurping.....straight copper-foil kinda gal. Didn't do too much last year, not a good one for me and the family. Hoping 2010 is a better year all around and for making new projects. Love to see new patterns. Thank you for such a welcoming welcome!

Welcome Twan,

Your not alone in wishing this year to be better than last...a lot of us do. I've been doing glass now for about 12 years and dabble in foil, lead, fusing, painting, and soon to be sandblasting.  There certainly is something that is addictive about glass.  Anything to do with glass gets my attention.

So glad your part of the family. Welcome home!

Twan, again Welcome.  And welcome to the addiction.  I think I can safely say you won't talk to many here that don't have that same affliction.  Looking forward to sharing and getting to know you. Did anyone tell you we love pics?

Hi again. Last year was a hard year for many of us, but we try to lift each other up here. This board and group of people was one of the best parts of the year. I hope this next year is better for all of us.

Hi guys!  My name is Deb and I have been here before, I just had to re-register as it had been a long time since I had visited the group.  I don't post a lot but do value the great information I find here.  I finally broke down and purchased a home here in North GA (I was renting as I wasn't sure I wanted to stay in this locale, hubby and I moved here from his home area of Ontario, Canada) and actually have a bit of space I think I can utilize as my "glass area".  It's been every bit of 2 years since my last glass project and I was really only a beginner then, so I may have to pick a few brains to make sure I remember things correctly.
I finally moved myself into a day/evening shift position at my full-time job (ER nurse), so I actually get to sleep at the same time every night and am thus more inclined (energy wise) to begin to play with my glass again.  I have REALLY been looking forward to that!  Thanks for letting me back into your wonderful group!
Oh yeah, I live in NW Georgia, am married to a great guy named David, have a fabulous Parson Russell Terrierist named Zipper (yes, he does zip everywhere), and between hubby and I we have 5 grandchildren ranging in age from new in September to 13 years in November!
